What Is GAP?

The Great Adventure Project, or GAP, is a ministry in which members of the Body of Christ have joined together in a "missional cell family" from The Bridge Community Church that serves in relationship with other missional cell families and other churches. GAP focuses on the residents of the Farmington Community Supervision Center and the female inmates at the St. Francois County Jail and it assists with the Conquering Addiction course. The purpose of this ministry is to reach people in need and to help them through acts of service, form lasting relationships with them, teach, lead and mentor them, and together with them, make positive changes in their lives. The ultimate goal is to introduce them to Christ and lead them into the Kingdom of God.

GAP focuses on these areas:

GAP provides help with basic needs such as transportation and clothing, as well as mentoring and biblical teaching for the residents of the Farmington Community Supervision Center. In addition, the residents are invited to worship at The Bridge Community Church. The mentoring and biblical teaching have expanded to include the women in the St. Francois County Jail.

GAP also assists with implementing the Conquering Addiction repentance and reconciliation ministry and biblical 12-step study. This is offered to the public and is also taught in the Community Supervision Center, and to the women in the St. Francois County Jail.
